Summary.  We are here presenting some thoughts about welfare pathways of patients who need composite interventions, that develop between hospital and territorial care, between health and socio-assistance services, reflecting on data from a survey conducted in the year 2008 on the patients of the Operative Unit of Psychiatry of Borgosesia. Synergy among different locations, roles and forms of the care is necessary to give response to the patients’ needs, so as to build positive development, overcome standstills and constructively re-organise the scheme. The trust in the rehabilitative scheme and the hope of positive feedback coming from a good co-operation and encouraging strategy is necessary to sustain the daily effort aimed at “human response”, involving patients, relatives, social and health services.
