Summary. The protomemories, reign of the sensory motors background, auditory and rhythmical, contain previous experiences that will never reach the consciousness. They are recognizable in the psychotherapic relationship under some transferal conditions, particularly in the dream considered as a laboratory of time, wether it is present, past or future. In some quotations about dreams, Adler suggests that protomemories are like a window open to imagination, to defence, to transferial feelings. This theoretic part is well documented by the dream of a female patient under analysis.
