The relational dependence as pathological fictional compensation in the era of communications mediated by new technologies

Summary. According to Adlerian theory “the stronger and the more intense is the sense of inferiority, the greater is the need to refer to a guideline that will emerge more clearly and will have as ultimate aim the safety. The fiction makes its appearance whenever the mind has to create a solution that promises safety. Insecurity is therefore reduced to the lowest possible level and it is immediately transformed into its opposite, that, in the guise of fictional goal, orients desires and fantasies. At a certain point it is possible that this goal becomes strengthened to the point to be considered concrete. In every mind there is the concept of a fictional goal to climb over the present and so measure the absence and the difficulties postulating a concrete goal for the future. This goal allows the individual to think himself and feel superior to the difficulties of the present in virtue of future success that he has in his mind [1]”. According to this perspective, this work explores the theme of the dependent relationship and the underlying addictive personality, understood as an expression of a pathological attempt to compensation using another “as if”, like a magical control of the self and solver of the needs of recognition and security. It is also considered, in this context the amplifying action of the fictions induced by the Comunications Mediated by the New Technology and by the consequent changes in cultural anthropology.

He creates, by these representations and by the fictional compensation, the human personality.
