Summary. The interpretative technique is the foundamental diagnostic instrument for every psychodinamic treatment. With reference to the model of Individual Psychology, the interpretation is, in the diagnostic field, the capacity of the operator to decode, with deep techniques, the hidden meanings of words and behaviours to understand the foundamental traits of personality and in therapeutic field, every communication which intends to reveal, by an adlerian interpretation, the consciousness of hidden or recondit meanings contained in speeches and attitudes, moreover it gives to the patient the reasons that have brought him to hide or camouflage the clear sense of matters. The presentation of some interpretative moments of a medical case will show the use of the two interpretative ways.
